Moderate. Multiple Japanese clinical trials have established zinc carnosine’s efficacy for gastric ulcer healing, H. pylori eradication support, and gastric mucosal protection against NSAID-induced damage. A 2014 study found zinc carnosine significantly reduced gut permeability increases induced by exercise in athletes, expanding its relevant application beyond clinical GI disease to the performance and gut barrier context. The evidence base is high- quality but geographically concentrated in Japan, where it has been used as a prescription medication for stomach ulcers for decades.
